Objectivos
Nesta UC os alunos obtêm uma compreensão aprofundada da natureza mutável da comunicação política na era digital, assim como das questões teóricas, práticas e éticas em torno do papel dos media na vida social e política.
Programa
O conteúdo desta disciplina combina planos de informação teórica, elucidação e sistematização conceptual e problematização de tendências contemporâneas dos domínios a que reporta, em torno dos seguintes planos. 1 - Delineamento conceptual e prospecção das questões que resultam da articulação entre modalidades da comunicação e da informação e entendimentos da política e da democracia. 2 - Aprofundamento de temáticas específicas dos pólos comunicação e política e da respectiva relação, de que se exemplificam, entre outras: épocas e tendências contemporâneas da comunicação política; comunicação, poder e política; media e conhecimento público; media, democracia e cidadania; política, emoção e razão; comunicação política, imagem e substância; informação, espectáculo e entretenimento; jornalismo e spin doctoring; comunicação em rede e deliberação política; internet, comunicações móveis e cidadania; política algorítmica e inteligência artificial e comunicação política
Método de Avaliação
Os alunos poderão optar pela avaliação ao longo do semestre ou pelo exame final. A avaliação dos conhecimentos adquiridos baseia-se na apreciação da participação e intervenção nas diferentes sessões (10%), realização individual de um teste em sala de aula (50%), apresentação de grupo sobre um dos tópicos tratados nas aulas e consequente elaboração dum trabalho escrito a entregar no fim do semestre (40%). A apresentação e o trabalho deverão basear-se numa revisão da literatura focada no tema escolhido, num objeto de análise empírico a apreciar, também, através da comparação com outros casos homólogos de comunicação política. O trabalho pode ainda incidir sobre o desenho de uma campanha de comunicação política com aplicações práticas a contextos eleitorais, de governação ou protesto, acompanhada de uma justificação teórica em modelo de memória descritiva das opções tomadas. Na avaliação por exame final, a nota obtida no exame corresponderá a 100% da nota da UC.
