Objectivos
-Identificar o papel do Estado Providência -Identificar as instituições produtoras de bem estar -Analisar o sistema de proteção nacional com referência aos padrões internacionais

1.A produção de bem-estar -O conceito de bem-estar e as necessidades humanas -As instituições produtoras de bem-estar individual-o welfare-mix 2.O papel do Estado no Estado-providência -A cidadania social. A inclusão social como fundamento das políticas sociais:na produção, na distribuição de recursos, nos serviços sociais -Os princípios de justiça redistributiva:necessidade,equidade,igualdade 3.Os padrões internacionais de proteção social -Os instrumentos globais:direitos humanos e especificação dos direitos económicos e sociais -O direito à segurança social:as convenções da OIT -A União Europeia e os direitos sociais 4.A segurança social em Portugal - desenvolvimento e desafios 5.O problema dos recursos:a adaptação das políticas sociais à era da "austeridade permanente" 6.O problema da procura:transição para a sociedade pós-industrial e os novos riscos sociais -Novo contrato de género e transformação das famílias -Transformações do trabalho -Envelhecimento
