Objectivos
Dotar os estudantes de capacidade para dominar a literatura teórica teórico-empírica básica sobre as eleições, os sistemas eleitorais e os partidos, bem como para estruturar um projecto de investigação em torno destes tópicos. Pretende-se ainda incentivar a sua capacidade de comunicar oralmente os resultados das pesquisas.
Programa
I- Representação política. 1.1 Tipos de representação. 1.2 Como medir a representação política? II- Sistemas eleitorais, ideologias e representação política 2.1 As grandes famílias de sistemas eleitorais. 2.2 Sistemas eleitorais, modelos de democracia e influência dos eleitores sobre o processo político. 2.3 Os sistemas eleitorais e a qualidade da representação política. III- Partidos políticos e representação política 3.1 Tipos de partidos desde a II Guerra mundial na perspectiva da representação política. 3.2 Crise dos partidos: indicadores; causas internas e externas da crise dos partidos.
Método de Avaliação
a) Assiduidade e participação nas aulas (assiduidade mínima exigida: 70% das aulas) - ponderação de 15% para a média final; b) Assiduidade e participação nas conferências do Doutoramento em Ciência Política - 10%; b) Apresentação oral de um texto na aula - 25%; c) Elaboração de um ensaio escrito onde os estudantes deverão procurar estruturar um projeto de investigação, com especial ênfase para a revisão da literatura - 50%.
