18th October: deadline for group formation and subject selection. After this date, no changes to groups or topics will be permitted (withdrawing from a group will result in having assessment through final exam only).
15th November: deadline for mid-term Progress Assessment. By this point, you should have completed the majority of your literature review or conceptual framework, or made significant progress in analyzing your case study. Keep in mind that these elements may still be subject to refinement or adjustment (missing this stage implies having assessment through final exam only).
20th December: Deadline for final submission. Your completed essay must be submitted by this date.

    • The maximum number of people allowed in a group has been increased from 3 to 4.

  2. Essay Length:

    • The essay's word limit has been extended from 4,000 words to 4,500 words.

Introduction: program, assessment, readings.
The assessment for this course comprises two components:
  1. Team Essay (50%): Groups of up to 3 students will write an essay on a private art museum. The essay should cover a range of topics, which may include: literature review and conceptual framework, history, collection, staff, governance and management, financing model, curatorial practices, educational programs, marketing and public relations, digitalization and technological innovation, community engagement, sustainability, legal and ethical issues, inclusivity, and any other relevant topics specific to the chosen museum. The essay must not exceed 4,000 words (approximately 10 pages) and should be submitted as a PDF via email to luis.afonso@letras.ulisboa.pt by Friday, December 20, 2024. APA Citation Style: adhere to APA formatting and referencing guidelines for your essay. This includes following the specific rules for in-text citations, reference lists, and overall document formatting as outlined in the APA Manual.
  2. Individual Test (50%): This exam will cover all topics from the course and will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025.
