How low price air travel changed european tourism on the XXI century. One circumstances was the 1993 liberalization of European air travel. The other circumstance was the rapid and ongoing progress on information and communication technologies that changed dramatically internet access. These circumstances allowed the success of Low Cost Companies and new online travel actors: hotel bed banks (boking.com, airBnb), travel companies (Expedia) and meta-search companies (Tripadvisory and others). The low cost companies are the most visible driver of the transformation.
