The third class of the module Europe as a Global Actor was dedicated to the evolution of the EU's strategic culture. We examined the terminology and distinguished between external/foreign relations, external/foreign, CFSP and CSDP. We then looked at the main actors and institutions involved in the creation and implementation of CFSP. After that, we traced the evolution of the EU's strategic culture through the European Security Strategy (2003), European Union Global Strategy (2016) and the Strategic Compass (2022). Lastly, we looked at the CSDP missions and operations - their purpose, nature, deployment, composition, and distribution.

The second class of the module Europe as a Global Actor was dedicated to the question Is the EU a Global Actor? We tried to answer that question by drawing on theories and concepts. The idea was to give students a theoretical and conceptual toolbox for understanding and explaining the EU's actorness, which they will be able to use in their written assignments. After explaining the purpose and usefulness of theories, we proceeded to discuss three IR and three regional integration theories, and look at how they see the EU's actorness. We then focused on the concept of Actorness through the evolution of its conceptualization.
