The second class of the module Europe as a Global Actor was dedicated to the question Is the EU a Global Actor? We tried to answer that question by drawing on theories and concepts. The idea was to give students a theoretical and conceptual toolbox for understanding and explaining the EU's actorness, which they will be able to use in their written assignments. After explaining the purpose and usefulness of theories, we proceeded to discuss three IR and three regional integration theories, and look at how they see the EU's actorness. We then focused on the concept of Actorness through the evolution of its conceptualization.

We covered the practical aspects of the course, including attendance, availability of resources and materials, and the specifications and deadline for the assignment. The students had an opportunity to express their interests related to the course and ask questions.
